Community outreach programs at Calvary Baptist Church include our Children’s Learning Center, the WELCOME Lunch that serves hot meals to those in need, and English classes. Continue reading for more information about these programs.
Those new to our community and to the English language gather at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 PM for conversation and instruction in English. These free “classes” are geared to the needs of the learners and encourage non-English speakers to become more comfortable with their new language.
Every Monday we serve a free hot lunch to those in need. Begun more than twenty years ago, the WELCOME Lunch (West End Lunch at Calvary on Monday Every week) offers nourishment and fellowship.
The Calvary Baptist Children’s Learning Center provides quality education in a caring environment for infants and children through Pre-Kindergarten. The CBCLC is open five days a week from 6:45 AM to 5:45 PM. Enrichment programs include exercise through Fit Kidz and field trips.
For more information, call CBCLC at 610-277-0257.
ABWM OF CALVARY
American Baptist Women’s Ministries lends support to projects through monetary gifts and other items such as clothing and personal hygiene products as needed. ABW also sends checks to missionaries for their birthdays and at Christmas.
Under the direction of the Discipleship Team, cards are sent weekly to the shut-in listed in the weekly bulletin. Members and friends of Calvary are also remembered with cards for their birthdays and anniversaries and when someone is ill or has had a relative or close friend pass away.
